Theri cast: Atlee duara written and directed 2016 ki Indian Tamil-language action thriller film hai aur V Creations ke banner Kalaipuli S. Thanu duara produced hai. ye Mani Ratnam ki film Chatriyan se inspired hai. film me Vijay Thalapathy, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson hai.

Film ka music G. V. Prakash Kumar duara compose hai, cinematography George C. Williams duara handle kiya gaya hai aur editing Ruben duara kiya gaya hai. movie me, ek former police officer apni daughter ko uske past enemies se bachaane ke mission par hai.

Movie ne Raja Rani (2013) ke baad Kumar ki second directorial film ko mark kiya, jiski success ne Vijay ko director ke saath kaam karne ke liye inspired kiya. Atlee script ke saath aaye, jo ek “emotional action thriller film” thi aur September 2014 me ek formal announcement ki gayi thi.

Post-production works aur June 2015 me ek formal launch ceremony ke baad, July ki shuruaat me Chennai me film ka production start hua. South India ke film Employees Federation ki strike aur Chennai me heavy flooding ke reason film ko do baar roka gaya tha.

Iske alaava, China me poor climatic conditions ka matlab tha ki team ko waha filming ke apne idea ko chhodna pada aur iske bajaay Bangkok me shooting karne ka option chuna. difficulties ke baawajood, film January 2016 me complete ho gayi thi.

Theri ko 14 April 2016 ko release kiya gaya tha aur ise critics and audiences se positive reviews milee the. movie ne ₹75 crore (US$9.4 million) ke budget ke mukaable ₹150 crore (US$19 million) ki kamayi kee aur second highest grossing Tamil and South Indian film of 2016 ke roop mein ubhari. isne aage three SIIMA Awards jeete.

Three IIFA Utsavam awards, two Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards aur 64th Filmfare Awards South me nine nominations receive huye. film ko Ratnakar (2019) ke roop me Assamese meim adapted kiya gaya tha. present mein ise Vijay ke career kee most-popular films me se ek maana jaata hai, movie me commercial elements aur television channels me iske kaee baar phir se chalne ke reason, jisne more popularity ko jimmedaar thahraaya hai.
